DERA ISMAIL KHAN: Officials of the Wild Life Department on Sunday foiled two separate attempts to smuggle birds at Daraban and Darya Khan check posts here on Sunday.
Offcial sources said that officials of the Wild Life Department recovered 25 cranes from the trunk of a car bound for Lakki Marwat from Balochistan at Daraban check post. After seizing the smuggled cranes, the Wild Life Department shifted them to the wild lifep in the limits of Saddar Police Station. A case was registered against the smuggler identified as Asghar.
Separately, another attempt of smuggling hundreds of quails to Peshawar was foiled at Darya Khan check post. The smugglers had stuffed hundreds of quails in five different boxes.
