KARACHI: Former Senator for Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Faisal Raza Abidi has been detained by Law enforcement agencies in Karachi’s Safoora Goth on late Friday.
Sources told that police and Rangers detained Abidi in a joint action at his residence and shifted him to some undisclosed location. However, no official announcement has been made by law enforcement agencies regarding the detention so far.
The reason behind the arrest is yet to be ascertained but it was learnt that Abidi was apprehended over the investigation of some high profile cases. Abidi resigned from Senate in 2014 while he had also left the presidency of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Karachi in 2012 due to clashes with the party leadership.
