Villagers of Qasim Panhwar, near Tando Jam, held a press conference at the local press club, on Friday, and told the media that they were being threatened by the men of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) MPA, Sharjeel Inam Memon as why they voted for Ali Kazi, the chief of Kawish Media House, who was contesting from Tando Jam against Sharjeel on the provincial assembly seat.
Addressing the news conference, Ahmed Pahanwar, Khan Muhammad Pahanwar and Khalil told that the armed men, sent by Sharjeel, attacked their homes at midnight and threatened them to leave the village for the reason that they did not vote for the PPP candidate.
The intruders also threatened them that their homes would be burnt and they would be killed if they did not leave the village. They told that during the attack, six villagers including three of their women were injured. They complained that they lodged a complaint before the local police but it did not take any action against the assailants instead, the police abused their women with sarcastic language. They appealed to the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) and Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Police to provide them protection against the goons of Sharjeel Memon.
