The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) on Thursday constituted monitoring teams for upcoming by-polls, scheduled for October 14.
According to sources, 27 teams will monitor by-elections that will take place in 35 constituencies.
The teams will be deployed in their assigned constituencies two days prior to the polls and stay till the tabulation of results.
Further, teams will examine the distribution of polling equipment and training of the polling staff. On the day of the by-polls, the teams will also review security arrangements.
Sources also said that the result transmission system (RTS) and votes of the overseas Pakistanis will also be monitored by the teams in addition to the process of tabulation and compilation of results. The by-elections will be held on October 14 in 35 constituencies of the national and provincial assemblies.
